On 29 July, the Parties to the Nauru Agreement (PNA) Office at the PNA Headquarters in Majuro, kicked off a weeklong Compliance Training Workshop for Compliance Officers from the PNA member countries.  The second of its kind, the workshop aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the fisheries compliance officers by providing hands-on training to address and resolve compliance issues faced by the Parties. Following the success of the 1st Compliance Workshop held last year, this creative and practical approach to tackling compliance issues through strengthening the capacity of PNA members highlights PNA's continued commitment to comply with regional and national regulatory requirements for sustainable management and harvesting of shared fisheries resources in the WCPO.
